Lead programme controls, assurance and reporting across major capital projects.

A major Leeds based organisation is strengthening its PMO capability for a long‑term, high‑value capital investment portfolio. We’re seeking a PMO Manager – Assurance & Controls to lead programme controls, embed proportionate governance, and provide clear, insight‑led reporting that enables confident decision making across multiple projects.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead programme controls: develop and implement an integrated performance approach aligning forecasts, schedules and reporting across the portfolio.
  • Embed governance and compliance: roll out control processes, monitor adherence, and coordinate status reporting and key metrics to ensure accuracy and visibility.
  • Elevate performance reporting: own programme and project health reporting; provide constructive challenge and support to drive solutions and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate collaboration: run workshops and working sessions to agree success criteria for project controls and promote consistency and best practice.
  • Proactively manage risk: identify threats to programme performance and champion improvement and innovation across the PMO community.
What you’ll bring:

  • A strong track record across major capital programmes in PMO, project controls or assurance (infrastructure/engineering/construction or similarly complex environments).
  • Deep knowledge of project control best practice (time, cost, quality, risk) and experience implementing governance at scale.
  • The ability to turn performance data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Confident leadership and stakeholder engagement - able to coach, influence and challenge constructively.
  • Familiarity with controls tools (scheduling, cost management, risk modelling) and integrated reporting.
Why apply:

  • Senior remit to shape programme controls and assurance across a significant portfolio
  • Hybrid working and a comprehensive benefits package
  • Opportunity to make a visible impact in a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment
If you’re an experienced PMO or project controls professional looking for a senior role where you can shape governance, influence delivery, and contribute to a major investment programme, we’d love to hear from you.
