Plumber – Public Sector – Newtownabbey

As a Maintenance Plumber, you’ll be involved in:

  • Plumbing Installations: Fit and maintain water, drainage, and gas systems for new builds and refurbishments, including social housing developments.
  • Healthcare Upgrades: Work on high-spec projects like the Altnagelvin Emergency Department, installing medical-grade plumbing systems under strict compliance and tight deadlines.
  • Mechanical Works: Carry out oil and gas-certified installations and maintenance, ensuring safe heating systems in residential and healthcare settings.
  • Repairs & Maintenance: Respond to emergency call-outs and perform routine plumbing repairs across a variety of properties.
  • Collaborative Working: Coordinate with electricians, carpenters, and other trades while promoting a safety-first culture through toolbox talks and mental health initiatives like “Tea & Talk.”
  • Special Projects: Support bespoke tasks such as flood/fire reinstatement and retrofitting plumbing systems in listed buildings.

✅ What You’ll Need

  • Fully qualified plumber (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Proven experience in plumbing maintenance and installation
  • Oil and gas certification (desirable)
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
