Your new company

You’ll be joining a large, multi‑site organisation with a wide and varied estate, including both historic buildings and modern facilities. The Estates & Facilities team is responsible for maintaining safe, reliable and compliant systems across three major campuses. You’ll be part of a highly skilled maintenance team working within a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment.

Your new role

Contract type: Temporary, minimum 3 months, temp to perm opportunities available.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with overtime and out‑of‑hours call-outs available.
Pay- £20-£22 p/hr, paid via Umbrella or PAYE. We do not pay CIS

As a Maintenance Plumber, you will carry out a broad range of plumbing and mechanical building services maintenance tasks. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing faults in plumbing systems, pipework, sanitaryware, valves, pumps and drainage
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on water systems, hot & cold distribution, TMVs, calorifiers, and other mechanical plant
  • Responding to emergency call-outs including leaks, blockages, burst pipes and urgent breakdowns
  • Ensuring water hygiene compliance including flushing, temperature monitoring and assisting with Legionella control measures
  • Installing, maintaining and repairing pipework in copper, plastic, steel and other materials
  • Completing isolation, drain-downs and reinstatement of systems safely and efficiently
  • Working with and interpreting technical drawings and schematic diagrams
  • Carrying out statutory inspections and completing associated documentation
  • Using computerised maintenance systems to update job records

What you'll need to succeed

  • A recognised plumbing qualification (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in plumbing maintenance within commercial, industrial or public buildings
  • Confident fault‑finding ability with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of water systems, pumps, valves, drainage and water hygiene
  • Ability to read and interpret plumbing schematics and building service drawings
  • DBS check
