Location: Greater Manchester (home based with regional travel)
Salary: £46,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Your new company
A well established organisation with a growing UK and Ireland estate is expanding its Facilities team to support new and existing sites. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Plumber to cover locations predominantly across the North of England and Scotland.

Your new role
As a Plumber, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of plumbing systems across multiple commercial sites. This is a mobile role, home based in Greater Manchester, with regular regional travel and occasional travel further afield.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing hot and cold water systems, heating systems, and drainage
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs
  • Installing sanitary ware, pipework, valves, traps, and plumbing appliances
  • Completing planned and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Ensuring all works comply with health & safety legislation and building regulations
  • Conducting inspections, pressure testing, and commissioning of systems
  • Completing job reports, maintenance logs, and documentation accurately
  • Liaising professionally with colleagues, contractors, and site contacts
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and tidy condition
  • Participating in an on call or emergency call out rota when required
  • Travelling regularly to sites across the UK and Ireland

What you’ll need to succeed

To be considered, you will have:
  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plumbing or Plumbing & Heating
  • Proven experience in domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing environments
  • Good knowledge of plumbing systems, UK water regulations, and health & safety standards
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical information
  • Strong fault finding and problem solving skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A valid CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel regularly

Desirable:

  • Gas Safe registration (ACS)
  • Facilities management or public sector experience
  • Knowledge of heating systems (boilers, heat pumps, underfloor heating)
  • Legionella or water hygiene training
  • CAFM system experience
  • Additional trade skills (e.g. basic electrical, tiling, or joinery)
