HAYS Recruitment is working with a leading organisation in York to recruit an experienced Plumber / Gas Engineer for a long‑term temporary assignment, with a strong possibility of the role becoming permanent.

Role Overview

You will be part of the on‑site estates team, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a commercial environment. This is a static role, working on one site only, providing a consistent and structured working week.

What You’ll Be Doing

Undertaking plumbing and gas maintenance, repairs, and installations
Responding to reactive issues as needed
Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Ensuring all work meets compliance and safety standards
Reporting directly to the Estates Manager

What’s Provided

Pool van for use on-site only
Tools and equipment provided
Supportive estates team and stable working environment

What We’re Looking For

Qualified Plumber with Gas certification (domestic or commercial)
Experience in commercial building maintenance
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
