Pipe Fitter / Plumber – Gatwick Airport

Your new company

An Mechanical & Electrical is currently looking for a Pipe Fitter / Plumber to install water supply, drainage, and associated systems as part of the construction of a new pier at Gatwick Airport, ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations. This is a 60-week project on days.

Your new role

  • Install, assemble, and maintain various types of pipe systems (including steel, copper, and plastic) according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and plans to ensure accurate installation.
  • Carry out cutting, threading, bending, and welding of pipes where required.
  • Fit valves, supports, and other components to complete pipe systems.
  • Conduct pressure tests and inspections to ensure system integrity and compliance.
  • Work at height using IPAF equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all airport and site-specific safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other trades and site supervisors to meet project deadlines.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Valid CSCS Card
  • IPAF Ticket (for working at height)
  • Previous experience in pipe fitting within commercial or industrial environments
  • Ability to work to strict safety and compliance standards

What you'll get in return

  • £27 per hour

  • Hours: 07:30–17:00 (Monday to Friday)

  • Start Date: Subject to airport security clearance

  • 60 day project
