Hays Education is recruiting passionate and knowledgeable Physics Teachers to work across a variety of secondary schools in Swindon. These roles are available on a temporary basis, offering both day-to-day cover and longer-term assignments depending on your availability and preferences. As a Hays Cover Teacher, you’ll have the flexibility to work in different school environments while making a meaningful impact on students’ understanding of world religions, ethics, and philosophy.

Your new role

You’ll be teaching Physics across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to support A-Level depending on experience. Your responsibilities will include:

• Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Plan and prepare schemes of work in line with the national curriculum
• Mark and assess student work, providing constructive feedback to support progress
• Use data to inform teaching and adapt strategies to meet individual learning needs
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment with strong behaviour management
• Liaise with colleagues, parents, and pastoral teams to support student wellbeing and achievement

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Proven experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school setting
• Strong subject knowledge in Physics
• Confident classroom management and ability to engage mixed-ability groups
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A proactive and flexible approach to teaching and school life
• Reliable transport (as the school is not easily accessible via public transport)
