Your new company

A leading accountancy and business advisory firm is seeking a Private Client Tax Manager to join its expanding team in Edinburgh or Glasgow. The firm works closely with ambitious, high-growth businesses and individuals across the UK, offering expert advice and tailored solutions to help clients navigate today’s dynamic financial landscape. With a strong national presence and collaborative culture, the firm is committed to helping its people thrive professionally and personally.

Your new role

As a Private Client Tax Manager, you’ll manage a diverse portfolio of individuals, partnerships, trusts, and family-run businesses. You’ll act as a trusted advisor, overseeing complex tax affairs and aligning your advice with each client’s personal and commercial goals. The role involves delivering both compliance and advisory services, reviewing work completed by junior colleagues, and supporting senior team members with complex client matters and business development. You’ll take ownership of billing, WIP, and identify opportunities to enhance service delivery, while ensuring quality control procedures are followed.

What you'll need to succeed

You’ll bring strong technical expertise and excellent interpersonal skills, along with a proactive and collaborative approach. You should be CTA and/or ACA qualified (or equivalent), with demonstrable post-qualified experience in private client tax. Experience managing a client portfolio and leading projects is essential, as is the ability to mentor and guide junior colleagues. Commercial awareness and confidence in communicating across teams will be key to your success.

What you'll get in return

You’ll be joining a firm that values individuality, innovation, and continuous learning. You’ll benefit from a supportive culture, agile working options, and a clear framework for career development. With access to senior leaders, a diverse client base, and modern collaboration spaces, you’ll be empowered to do your best work and grow your professional network. The firm offers mentoring, coaching, and resources to help you achieve your personal and career ambitions.
