Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary

Location: BD10, Bradford
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week, Term Time Only + 5 days
Salary: £31,022 – £33,699 (FTE), Band 8 SCP 17–22 (Actual: £26,803 – £29,115 per annum)
Start date: 05/01/2026

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a primary school in BD10 with an OFSTED rating of 'outstanding'. The successful candidate will work across all age groups, supporting pupils in both mainstream classes and the school’s resource provision. This role involves delivering lessons and interventions under the guidance of teaching staff, working with individuals, small groups, and whole classes, as well as covering lessons when required. The school is part of a highly regarded trust with an excellent track record of supporting staff development through specialist training and professional growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of a teacher.
  • Support pupils’ learning across the curriculum through targeted interventions and in-class support.
  • Provide support for pupils with additional or specific learning needs, including SEND.
  • Assist in planning and delivering lessons and learning activities.
  • Promote pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Contribute to raising standards and pupil achievement.
