Hays is proud to be working in partnership with a local council to recruit a Performance and Data Manager to support a major transformation programme within the Customer Services function. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-impact initiative that aims to enhance service delivery for citizens and businesses across Birmingham.

About the Role:
As the Performance and Data Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the council’s reporting responsibilities and driving performance improvements across Customer Services. Your insights and recommendations will directly support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and delivery of performance reports and business intelligence to support excellent customer service.
  • Analyse business performance data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop business cases and proposals to support service enhancements and change initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement data-driven strategies that reduce unnecessary customer interactions and promote channel shift.
  • Provide financial impact analysis and advise on performance improvement measures aligned with strategic outcomes.

✅ What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven experience in performance management, data analysis, and reporting within a customer service or public sector environment.
  • Strong understanding of commercial factors affecting service delivery and customer interaction channels.
  • Skilled in financial planning, cost-benefit analysis, and interpreting KPIs.
  • Ability to extract actionable insights from complex data sets and communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Experience supporting business change initiatives and service transformation.
