The Role
People Development Specialist, up to £ £48,668 plus car or car allowance at £7,250, hybrid working, Bristol. This pivotal position is not a Trainer role. Instead, you will lead the design and continuous improvement of the training programmes. You will also be skills mapping and planning development programmes that ensure the all-important workforce is qualified, safe, and future-ready with a strong focus on:
  • Ensuring the workforce is qualified to deliver services to customers in compliance with the Building Safety Act
  • Developing, managing and maximising a CITB relationship and funding
  • Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager to drive safety standards
  • Designing and rolling out robust operative/trade development training programmes for key skill areas, including qualifications to recognise skills
  • Consulting and collaborating to schedule operations design and delivery priorities and implement solutions to ensure progression opportunities and capability building
  • Developing and delivering training on key operational, legal and safety initiatives
  • Leveraging external funding opportunities and partnerships to enhance the breadth and quality of training initiatives as well as utilise funding and partnerships with trades to provide training for upcoming projects.
  • Content Curation & Development – Working with subject-matter experts to expand the digital learning offer
  • Designing and improving compliance training and initiatives aligned with industry regulations and best practices
  • Regularly update the skills matrix to reflect current capabilities and future requirements
  • Delivering training initiatives to improve productivity for operatives and operational management teams
  • Evaluating & enhancing the toolbox talk programme – improving and monitoring to maximise results
  • Supporting broader OD projects as required, ensuring alignment with organisational goals

What You Need to Succeed
This opportunity requires a Learning & Development Professional with a strong background in the construction / property sector – this could be housebuilders, housing association, new build, council, property maintenance.
