PE Teacher with Humanities – Temporary Position (ASAP Start) – Secondary school based close to Chester
Your new school
Hays are currently supporting a large secondary school easily accessible from Liverpool, Wirral, Chester and Warrington. You will be joining a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school that prides itself on high standards, a strong pastoral culture, and a commitment to providing every student with opportunities to thrive. The school has excellent sporting facilities, a collaborative staff team, and a leadership group who value professional development and work life balance. This is a community-focused environment where staff feel valued and students are encouraged to reach their full potential both in and out of the classroom.
Your new role
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic PE Teacher who can also offer a second subject within Humanities. This is a temporary position starting as soon as possible, with a timetable of PE alongside a small number of lessons within your humanities specialism. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, supporting extra-curricular sport where needed, and contributing positively to the wider school ethos. This role requires someone confident in managing practical lessons and able to adapt quickly within a busy school environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will need qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent and recent experience teaching PE at secondary level. The ability to teach a Humanities subject, such as History, Geography or RE, to Key Stage 3 or 4 is essential. You should bring strong behaviour management, a proactive and flexible approach, and a passion for helping students achieve their best. A willingness to get involved in enrichment activities and represent the PE department across school life will also be important.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will benefit from a highly supportive senior leadership team, access to high-quality teaching resources, and the chance to work within a school that genuinely values its staff. You will receive competitive daily rates, ongoing support from a dedicated consultant, and the opportunity to make a real impact during a key period for the school. This temporary role also has the potential to open doors to longer-term opportunities for the right candidate.
