Payroll Specialist
Location: North Liverpool
Salary: £35,000+ (dependent on experience)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Pattern: Fully Office-Based (flexible arrangements available for the right candidate)

The Company

An established and growing family-owned business based in North Liverpool is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional looking to take ownership of a busy payroll function and play a key role in improving and modernising existing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end payroll processing using Sage 50 Payroll.
  • Managing payroll for approximately 92 employees across weekly and monthly payroll cycles.
  • Processing PAYE and National Insurance returns.
  • Administering People's Pension auto-enrolment.
  • Supporting payroll activities relating to subcontractors.
  • Collecting, validating and processing payroll data and timesheets.
  • Ensuring payroll compliance and accuracy at all times.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve existing payroll processes and reduce manual administration.

About You

  • Previous end-to-end payroll experience is essential.
  • Experience using Sage 50 Payroll is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of PAYE, National Insurance and pension administration.
  • Experience processing both weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Experience within a similar sector would be advantageous due to the complexity of payroll data collection.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on environment and challenging existing processes.
  • Proactive approach with a desire to implement improvements and drive efficiencies.
