Your new company

Join a well-established payroll bureau based in Plymouth, providing accurate and timely payroll services to a diverse client base. The team is known for its professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to excellent service.

Your new role

As a Payroll Officer, you’ll manage your own portfolio of clients with complex payroll needs. You’ll be responsible for processing end-to-end payroll, handling statutory payments, liaising with HMRC, and providing first-line support for payroll queries. This is a full-time, office-based role (Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week) with no hybrid or remote working.

What you'll need to succeed

You’ll ideally bring:
  • Experience working in a busy payroll function (2–3 years preferred, but training can be provided).
  • Strong numeracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Confidence in handling confidential information.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above).
  • A payroll qualification (e.g. CIPP) is desirable but not essential.
You’ll also need a good understanding of payroll software and UK labour regulations, with the ability to stay calm under pressure and meet deadlines.

What you'll get in return

What You'll Get in Return
  • A stable, full-time role in a supportive and professional environment.
  • The opportunity to manage your own client portfolio and develop specialist payroll expertise.
  • A three-month contract with potential for extension or permanent placement.
  • A chance to work closely with clients and make a real impact.
