Part Time Payroll Specialist
I am seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll & Benefits Specialist. This role is essential in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll and benefits, while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
Location: Central Oxford
Salary: 35k-45k
Part-time: 3 days a week with the potential to go full time
Permanent Position
Responsibilities:
- Process monthly payroll, including salaries, bonuses, variable pay, and deductions.
- Manage stipend and maintenance payments for specific internal programmes.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC, pension, and employment legislation.
- Maintain accurate payroll and benefits records for all employees, including starters, leavers, and contractual changes.
- Administer statutory and company benefits such as pensions, insurance, and tax withholdings.
- Generate payroll reports for internal stakeholders including HR, Finance, and senior management.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee payroll queries.
- Liaise with third-party providers and external agencies as needed.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing relevant documentation.
- Keep up to date with changes in payroll legislation and best practices.
Essential:
- Demonstrable experience in payroll, HR, or finance administration.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion, Pay Circle).
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Confident communicator with the ability to manage third-party relationships effectively.
- Comfortable working with large volumes of data from multiple sources.
Desirable:
- Payroll certification (e.g., CPP, Payroll Technician Certificate).
- Flexible approach to working hours to meet payroll cycle demands.
