Your new role
As Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll services to a portfolio of clients. Your key duties will include:
- Preparing weekly and monthly payrolls for multiple clients
- Calculating pay, holiday pay, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.)
- Processing payslips and ensuring accurate pension contributions and PAYE deductions
- Using payroll software such as IRIS (preferred), Basic PAYE Tools, Xero, or BrightPay
- Liaising with clients and HMRC on payroll-related matters
- Working both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Carrying out general administrative duties as required
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience in payroll administration, ideally within an accountancy or bureau setting or from industry
- Proficiency in payroll software, with IRIS experience being advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple client deadlines
- Excellent communication skills for client and HMRC interactions
- A proactive and organised approach to independent and team-based work
