Your new company

The Payroll Officer is responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments, maintaining payroll records, and processing transactions in compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies.

Your new role

Key Responsibilities:
Administer the full payroll cycle for all employees, ensuring precision and timeliness.
Maintain and update payroll data, including employee details, earnings, and deductions.
Calculate and process statutory deductions such as income tax, national insurance, and pension contributions.
Prepare payroll reports and share relevant pay information with internal stakeholders.
Respond to payroll-related queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
Collaborate with operational teams to support process improvements and enhance payroll workflows.
Stay informed on changes in payroll legislation and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

What you'll need to succeed

High accuracy in payroll calculations and data entry.
Timely completion of payroll processing to meet payment deadlines.
Identification and escalation of any issues related to minimum wage compliance or legislative adherence.
Contribution to the development and implementation of internal controls to mitigate payroll-related risks.
Effective communication and collaboration with finance and HR teams to support payroll operations.
Maintenance of strict confidentiality in handling sensitive employee data in line with GDPR requirements.
Proactive problem-solving to minimise disruption caused by payroll or system issues.

What you'll get in return

Qualifications & Experience:
Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing using in-house payroll systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Teams) and ability to work effectively in remote or distributed environments.
Experience providing payroll guidance to managers and colleagues.
Strong analytical skills and a systems-thinking approach to problem-solving.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing business needs.
