Your new role
As Payroll Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. This is a hands‑on position requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing time & attendance data, shift patterns and absence records
- Planning and maintaining holiday, sickness and maternity leave information
- Preparing overtime reports and conducting weekly minimum wage checks
- Supporting statutory payments, benefits and salary sacrifice schemes
- Liaising with HR and Finance on payroll matters
- Reviewing weekly and monthly payroll files
- Managing BACS setups, third‑party payments and benefit deductions
- Responding to employee payroll queries professionally and promptly
What you'll need to succeed
- GCSEs incl. Maths & English OR a payroll/finance qualification (CIPP, AAT etc.)
- Proven experience in payroll administration
- Experience processing weekly and/or monthly payroll
- Knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
- Strong Excel and payroll software skills
- High accuracy, confidentiality and the ability to prioritise workload
- (Desirable) CIPP membership, AAT Level 4, or HMRC RTI experience
