Contract Opportunity – Payments Business Analyst - Global Bank

Details:
Location – London
Hybrid – 2 days / week in the London office
Rate - £650-£700 / day Inside IR35
Duration – Initial 6 months – extensions likely
We are looking for a Lead Business Analyst with strong Payments expertise to support major transformation initiatives, including the replacement of a legacy General Ledger system. You will act as the bridge between business and technology teams while leading a small BA group to produce high‑quality analysis and requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate BA deliverables and mentor junior analysts
- Define and document requirements for payments systems and integrations
- Run workshops, produce user stories, and ensure alignment to target architecture
- Create process maps, data flows, acceptance criteria, and impact assessments
- Support testing teams and manage analysis‑related risks and dependencies
Essential Skills
- Strong experience as a Senior/Lead BA on large IT change programmes
- Experience leading or coordinating BA teams
- In‑depth knowledge of Payments processes (BACS, CHAPS, SEPA, SWIFT, Instant Payments)
- Understanding of ISO20022 and SWIFT MT messaging
- SQL experience for data analysis and validation
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence
Desirable
- Experience with finance‑platform or ledger transformation
- Technical literacy (APIs, XML, message flows)
