An interim requirement for a Pay & Benchmarking specialist to join our client for the next 6 months

Your new company
Our client is committed to delivering fair, data-backed pay benchmarking that supports workforce equity and organisational performance. We’re seeking a Pay Benchmarking Specialist to deliver on a key project, working with the HR Director and key stakeholders to design benchmarking methodology that can be used to obtain thorough benchmarking for their upcoming pay review.

Your new role
As a Pay Benchmarking Specialist, you’ll be responsible for delivering the end-to-end benchmarking project. You will be working as an individual contributor but will collaborate with the wider HR service and with the Trade Union reps. You’ll manage complex datasets, conduct job comparisons and develop pay models that align with external market data. A key part of your role will be presenting findings to trade union representatives—requiring confidence, credibility, and remaining calm under pressure.

You’ll work closely with HR and key stakeholders to ensure benchmarking outcomes are robust, transparent, and actionable. Remaining objective and evidence-driven at all times.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Proven experience in delivering pay benchmarking projects, ideally as an independent consultant or as a Pay Specialist
  • Confidence and resilience when presenting data to trade unions or challenging stakeholders.
  • Advanced data handling skills, including Excel or other analytical tools.
  • Strong pay modelling experience, including salary banding and market comparisons.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to job profiling and matching.

What you'll get in return
  • Our client is open to this role being a hybrid role from one of their 4 offices in the UK, or it can also be worked remotely. They are also open to considering 5 days per week or part-time working options.
