Warrington. Full-time contract delivering ELSA interventions on a 1:1 and group basis KS3 & 4. November start.
Your new company
Hays Recruitment is proud to be supporting a Warrington-based secondary school that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to appoint a pastoral support or teaching assistant to deliver emotional support literacy interventions to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small group basis. This is an extremely supportive and welcoming school that may look to appoint on a permanent basis for the right individual.
Your new role
As a teaching or pastoral assistant within this school, you will play an integral part in the education of select groups of pupils that struggle with SEMH and select behavioural needs. You will offer 1:1 and small group support, with a focus on ELSA interventions and well-being support. Rather than acting as a long-term therapist or counsellor for your new pupils, you will offer comprehensive well-being support for a 6–12 week time period, setting specific meaningful targets and accurately tracking pupil progress. Once your group or specific pupil has reached their target, you will then manage a new group or individual pupils whilst still tracking the previous's progress, reintegrating them back into sessions if required. Due to the nature of your role, you will directly report to the SENDCO and pastoral lead, giving accurate feedback on pupil progress, recognising key milestones, and playing a leading part in the development of specific interventions to aid in attainment and behavioural progress.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, a minimum of 40 days of relevant referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years, and:
- Experienced delivering ELSA, behavioural and well-being interventions is essential
- Experience supporting SEMH, trauma and specific behavioural needs
- Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract
What you'll get in return
If you are successful in your application, you will receive the full support, dedication and guidance of a senior DfE accredited recruitment consultant as well as a wide range of amazing benefits, that include:
- Free training
- Upfront cost of DBS covered
- Long-term contract
- Possible permanent contract
- Highly competitive rate of pay
- Company pension scheme
- Full holiday entitlement
- Access to exclusive vacancies
- Refer a Friend scheme
