Pastoral Officer - On going role – Skelmersdale
Your new role
You will play a key part in the pastoral team, helping ensure students feel safe, supported, and able to succeed. Responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 and small‑group pastoral support
- Supporting students with behaviour, attendance, and emotional wellbeing
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Liaising with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies
- Assisting with behaviour plans, restorative work, and mentoring
- Managing students in the behaviour base or reflection room where needed
What you’ll need to succeed
- Experience in a school, youth work, behaviour support, or pastoral role
- Strong communication and de‑escalation skills
- An empathetic, calm, and patient approach
- The ability to build rapport with young people with diverse needs
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
