  • Delivering structured behaviour intervention programmes and monitoring progress.
  • Managing the Refocus room to support students in regulating behaviour and reintegrating into lessons.
  • Responding to on-call requests to assist staff with behaviour incidents across the school.
  • Building positive relationships with students, staff, and families to promote engagement and wellbeing.
  • Supporting safeguarding procedures and liaising with the wider pastoral and inclusion teams.
  • Completing a daily lunchtime duty to ensure a safe and respectful environment during break periods.
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to student support plans and reviews.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Extensive experience in pastoral care and behaviour support within a secondary school setting.
  • Proven track record of delivering effective behaviour interventions and mentoring students.

  • Confidence managing challenging behaviour and de-escalating situations calmly and professionally.
  • A proactive, empathetic, and resilient approach to student support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies.
  • Immediate availability and commitment to the full duration of the maternity cover.

What you'll get in return

  • A supportive and inclusive school environment with a strong pastoral ethos
  • Opportunity to make a lasting impact on student wellbeing and development
  • Access to professional development and training opportunities
  • Competitive pay based on experience and contract terms
  • A rewarding role within a committed and caring team
