• Process end-to-end monthly payroll within set deadlines
• Set up new starters, process leavers, and update employee records
• Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time
• Handle wage queries including hours, holiday entitlement, mileage, and expense claims
• Reconcile adjustments after payroll cut-off in the following month’s payroll
• Produce and issue payslips via Sage
• Manage pension auto enrolment and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.)
• Submit RTI, CIS returns, P11Ds, and year-end reports
• Respond to HMRC queries and client questions
• Upload pension contributions to NHS and People’s Pension providers
• Identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and resolve promptly
• Liaise with internal staff and external clients as required
• Maintain payroll records and filing systems
• Produce reports, spreadsheets, and support general administrative duties

• Previous payroll experience (ideally with Sage)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of statutory payments and pension processes

• Flexible working hours (25–30 per week, with scope for more if desired)
