Location: Tile Hill, Coventry
Contract: Temp to Perm after just 12 weeks!

Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm

About the Setting

This specialist education setting in Tile Hill, Coventry supports young people with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities. The Key Skills pathway is designed for learners who are preparing for adulthood, focusing on functional English, maths, ICT, employability, and life skills.

Learners take part in both classroom-based and practical, community-focused activities, with staff providing encouragement, structure, and guidance every step of the way. Some learners require support with personal care and daily routines, so staff play a vital role in ensuring dignity, respect, and wellbeing are always maintained. It’s a welcoming, inclusive environment where progress is celebrated, and every learner is supported to achieve their potential.


Your new role

As a Key Skills SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to learners developing independence and employability skills.
  • Assist with personal care and daily routines where required.
  • Support learners in building functional English, maths, ICT, and life skills.
  • Encourage participation in work experience, community activities, and practical learning.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored, goal‑focused programmes.
  • Help create a positive, structured, and inclusive environment that prepares learners for adulthood.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, care, or youth work backgrounds considered).
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • A genuine passion for helping learners develop independence and life skills.
  • Willingness to support with personal care.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners.
