In the recent merger with a forward-thinking investment, the firm have an opening for a financial service paralegal. This company offers a wide range of financial services, including wealth and investment management, as well as bespoke solutions for both individuals and institutions.

Your new role
You'll join their small legal function, working alongside the senior legal counsel, the legal director and the compliance team. This fantastic opportunity will allow the successful candidate the opportunity to undertake a generalist role and make an impact in the high-performing team while being involved in the expansion of the business.

What you'll need to succeed
Our client is looking for a well-qualified candidate with at least a year of experience in financial services, ideally with a background in corporate, commercial, or data protection law. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the legal, HR, and compliance teams, providing broad support across a variety of business areas. The successful candidate will be involved in everything from drafting and filing company documents to advising on data protection and international employment matters, as well as preparing client agreements. They will also contribute to legal workstreams spanning governance, company secretarial duties, client relations, and compliance.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include maintaining company registers, drafting resolutions and minutes, and managing filings across jurisdictions such as the UK and other offshore entities. The role requires a proactive approach to data protection, including responding to privacy inquiries, managing breaches and DSARs, and helping implement internal policies. The candidate will also be expected to review and negotiate commercial contracts, NDAs, and service agreements, and support client onboarding and deal documentation, often liaising directly with clients’ legal advisors or internal relationship managers. There will be opportunities to support HR with employment contracts, performance reviews, and staff communications, as well as to assist with inductions and updates to internal policies. The candidate will be responsible for tracking legal work in progress, managing key deadlines, and handling ad hoc queries from across the business. They will also support audit processes, along with other administrative tasks as needed.

A degree-level education is essential.
