Salary: Up to £34,000
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 1 day remote
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operational Accountant to join a dynamic finance team based in Liverpool City Centre. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about process improvement, stakeholder collaboration and financial control.
You will play a key role in the day‑to‑day operational accounting function while supporting continuous improvement across finance processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with banking partners
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations, ensuring system balances are accurate
  • Oversee daily payment processes, ensuring compliance with agreed SLAs
  • Assist in preparing monthly reporting packs, including KPIs
  • Lead credit control activities, maintaining appropriate levels of aged debt
  • Support interest sharing processes and reporting requirements
  • Review and enhance operational accounting processes to improve efficiency
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems and procedures
  • Support finance‑related projects, ensuring cost control and compliance
Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a strong financial control environment
  • Experience working with multiple banking platforms
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (advanced level preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proactive, adaptable and solutions‑focused
  • Strong problem‑solving skills
Team Collaboration & Development
  • Work closely with wider teams to drive process improvements and efficiencies
