Hays is seeking a Band 6 Locum Occupational Therapist to work in a college setting.

Location: Camberwell Green, South East London
Contract type: Full-time (term-time only – no annual leave permitted during term time)
Salary: daily, negotiable

About the Opportunity
Our client, a specialist education provider, is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to join their Integrated Services Team.
This is a fantastic chance to join a well-established organisation that supports young people with severe and profound learning disabilities and/or autism. You’ll play a key role in helping learners reach their full academic, social, and employment potential, while contributing to their independence and successful transition to adulthood.

Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and group therapy interventions focused on sensory processing, motor skills, daily living activities, and independence.
Assess student needs, prescribe and monitor specialist equipment, and ensure safe manual handling practices.
Collaborate with teaching and support staff to embed therapy strategies within the curriculum.
Participate in Education Health & Care Plans, reviews, and multidisciplinary planning.
Work in partnership with families and external agencies to deliver joined-up care.
May be occasionally required to work weekends for events such as open days or residential trips.

To be considered, you will need:
HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
Experience working with young people aged 16+ who have complex learning difficulties and/or autism.
Knowledge of SEND reforms and EHCP processes.
Strong assessment, planning, and evaluation skills, with the ability to deliver evidence-based interventions.
Confidence delivering therapy in one-to-one and group settings.
Familiarity with prescribing specialist seating and adaptive equipment.
A commitment to continued professional development and reflective practice.
Flexibility to travel across sites (colleges, schools, community settings, and homes).
Comfort working in environments where exposure to bodily fluids may occur.
