Occupational Health Administrator | Public Sector | Chorley | Immediate Start | Long term temp | Full Time

Your new company

You will be working for a large public sector organisation based in Chorley, and they are currently looking to recruit an Occupational Health Administrator on an ongoing, long-term temporary basis. You will provide professional, customer‑focused administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Occupational Health Unit. The role acts as a key point of contact for employees, new starters, and managers, ensuring all enquiries are handled discreetly and efficiently.

Your new role

In this role, duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Provide a welcoming and professional service to visitors and callers, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Manage clinical diaries, booking, amending, and cancelling appointments to ensure efficient scheduling.
  • Handle referral administration and liaise with employees, clinicians, and managers as required.
  • Support the administration of medical assessments, screenings, and statutory medicals, ensuring accurate and compliant record‑keeping.
  • Maintain manual and electronic records, including scanning, uploading, and preparing case files.
  • Assist with note‑taking, filing, document preparation, and general administrative duties.
  • Manage stock levels for medical and office supplies and process related invoices.
  • Type clinical reports and documentation to a high standard of accuracy.
  • Provide administrative support to the Occupational Health Manager, including work relating to referrals, reporting, and budget monitoring.
  • Liaise with external agencies where required.
  • Review and suggest improvements to administrative processes.
  • Support onboarding processes for new starters and return‑to‑work activities for employees.
  • Demonstrate commitment to personal development, safeguarding, health and safety, environmental responsibility, and equality, diversity, and inclusion.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced administrator who prides themselves on providing first-class service at all times. You will be a self-starter and must be able to work on your own initiative. You will be able to commit to a long-term temporary assignment and must be able to work on site 5 days a week. You will be proficient in using Microsoft Office packages and have the ability to organise and prioritise workload.
