Senior Associate - Non-Contentious Construction

Your new company

A leading UK law firm is seeking a talented construction lawyer to join its highly regarded team, working on a broad range of non-contentious matters for an impressive client base, including household names.

Your new role

You will advise on a diverse mix of development and infrastructure projects, real estate and corporate acquisitions/disposals, property finance, and process plant contracts. Working closely with a collaborative team, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional client service and supporting the continued growth and success of the practice.

The construction and engineering team is at the forefront of the UK’s most significant projects, from transformative infrastructure ventures to urban regeneration schemes. The team offers strategic advice on procurement, project delivery, and dispute resolution, and is known for its commercial and contractual expertise. Clients include developers, contractors, consultants, public authorities, higher education bodies, and funders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on standard forms of construction contracts (JCT, NEC), development agreements, process plant, and associated documentation.
  • Acting primarily for employer/developer clients, but experience on the contractor/supply side is also valued.
  • Supporting clients on major projects from inception to completion, including de-risking strategies and procurement advice.
  • Opportunity to mentor and support junior team members.
  • While the focus is on non-contentious work, candidates interested in a mix of contentious and non-contentious matters are encouraged to apply.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with significant experience in non-contentious construction law.
  • Demonstrable expertise in standard forms of construction contracts and associated project documentation.
  • Background in either private practice or industry (in-house experience with major industry players is welcomed).
  • Strong commercial acumen and excellent client relationship skills.
  • Team player with a collaborative approach and a desire to contribute to a high-performing national team.

What you'll get in return

  • Competitive remuneration
  • Comprehensive and flexible benefits package
  • Supportive and inclusive culture
  • Opportunities for career progression and professional development
