NG AUTHORISED ELECTRICAL SUPERVISOR
A leading contractor working on a National Grid substation project in Swansea is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join the on‑site delivery team. This position offers the opportunity to work within a regulated, high‑voltage environment, ensuring safe and compliant supervision of electrical activities.
The Role
As the Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all electrical works on a live National Grid substation project, ensuring tasks are delivered safely, efficiently and to required standards. Responsibilities include:
- Supervising electrical activities across the site
- Ensuring all work adheres to National Grid safety rules and procedures
- Coordinating electrical trades and maintaining safe systems of work
- Monitoring progress and reporting issues to site management
- Managing permits, authorisations and daily documentation
- Supporting safety initiatives, toolbox talks and site briefings
Essential Requirements
- NG Person authorisation (Mandatory)
- Manual Handling certification (Mandatory)
- Experience supervising electrical works
- Strong understanding of safety, permits and controlled‑environment procedures
- Ability to lead and coordinate teams on high‑risk infrastructure projects
Desirable Skills
- Experience on National Grid or other high‑voltage substations
- Strong electrical supervisory background
- Effective leadership and communication abilities
