Your new role
As a Neighbourhood Officer, you will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive tenancy and estate management service. You will manage your own patch, ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining sustainable tenancies.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing tenancy agreements, allocations, lettings, and mutual exchanges
- Handling anti-social behaviour cases, including investigation and enforcement action where required
- Supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies, working closely with income recovery and tenancy support teams
- Providing advice on welfare benefits and helping residents maximise their income
- Conducting estate inspections and resident visits, including those in arrears
- Working collaboratively with local authorities and partner agencies
- Supporting safeguarding cases and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements
- Encouraging resident engagement and promoting positive neighbourhood relationships
- You will also be required to attend court proceedings where necessary and ensure all services are delivered in line with organisational policies and performance standards.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience within housing, tenancy management, or a similar customer-focused role
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy agreements, and landlord responsibilities
- Experience managing anti-social behaviour and working with external agencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate
- A proactive and organised approach, with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience working directly with customers in challenging situations
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable:
- A CIH qualification (or working towards one)
- Previous experience as a Housing or Neighbourhood Officer
