Exciting Job Opportunity for Multi-skilled Engineer – Electrical (Heathrow, London) - £46,224 + 10% Allowance

This role is a shift-based position which will require the candidate to work on 4 shifts on and 4 off rotation. These shifts will rotate between days and nights. For example: 2 days 5:30–5:30, followed by 2 nights 5:30–5:30, 4 days off.

Job Overview:-Responsible to a Shift Leader for undertaking electrical/mechanical works on a wide range of building services, reactive and planned maintenance throughout the London Estate. The work is undertaken on a shift basis to ensure 24hr cover for the London Estate. All shift teams are to be complementary with a balance of electrical and mechanical support across the sites. High standard of planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
Able to use diagnostic equipment and work from technical manuals and drawings. Able to identify visual plant defects, warning lights and indicators.
Comprehensive understanding of building services and proficient in maintenance of: power, distribution and switching, motor controls, lighting systems, stand-by generators, electrical test procedures and certification, control systems, inverter operation and design, fire alarm/PA systems.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • City & Guilds craft certificate/ONC etc.
  • Recognised craft apprenticeship
  • Training certificate for IEE 18th Edition
  • Two years post-apprenticeship experience in a similar role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Building Services.
  • C&G 2391 or equivalent desirable
  • Full-in-depth, intrusive security checks to be completed for successful candidate
The ideal candidate would have appropriate up-to-date training such as an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering Maintenance (multidiscipline) and have good knowledge of building Statutory Compliance. They will need to be responsible for themselves and others to maintain a safe working environment as per the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974). They need to be able to read and understand technical drawings, have good problem-solving and decision-making skills and be able to communicate effectively, verbally and written.
