Mobile Mechanical & Electrical Engineer
Location: Mobile role IP7
Salary: Up to £45,000 + Company Car / Allowance Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Hays is working with a leading defence‑sector FM provider to recruit a skilled and motivated Mobile M&E Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that delivers essential maintenance and technical services across key military sites — playing a crucial role in ensuring safety, compliance, and high‑quality service delivery.
The Role
As a Mobile M&E Engineer, you’ll provide technical expertise across multiple sites, ensuring all work is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with JSP375 and Safe Systems of Work. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering planned and reactive M&E services across three military locations
- Producing high-quality Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Assessing the competence of Skilled Persons and providing coaching and supervision
- Supporting project work and advising on estate safety, compliance and technical issues
- Liaising with stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery
- Identifying opportunities to reduce corrective actions and support carbon‑reduction goals
- Participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota
- Ensuring maintenance and operational standards meet regulatory and contractual requirements
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a highly capable engineer with:
- Full Mechanical or Electrical qualification
- AP tickets (Electrical or Mechanical) — desirable, but training provided for the right candidate.
- Strong knowledge of Safe Systems of Work and JSP375
- Experience working independently across multiple sites
- Confidence in problem‑solving and decision‑making
- Experience supervising staff or contractors
- Full UK driving licence
