Temporary Electrical Engineer | Hull

Location: Hull (Manufacturing / FMCG Environment)
Contract Type: Temporary – Approx. 3 months (start ASAP, end date TBC)
Working Pattern: 2 days per week, 08:00–16:00
Days Worked: To be agreed during interview

About the Role
A leading organisation within the manufacturing and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector is seeking an experienced Electrical Bias Engineer to support its facilities and maintenance operations at a large industrial site in Hull. This position involves a blend of planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive/ad‑hoc electrical work, ensuring the site remains safe, compliant, and fully operational. The role suits a self-sufficient engineer comfortable working within a busy production environment.

Key Responsibilities
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs)
  • Carry out routine electrical maintenance activities on site.
  • Ensure all PPMs are completed within agreed timeframes and to regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and update maintenance systems as required.
Reactive & Ad-Hoc Electrical Works
  • Respond to breakdowns, faults, and service calls across the facility.
  • Conduct electrical diagnostics, repairs, and replacements.
  • Support minor installation work and general site improvements.
Compliance & Site Standards
  • Work in alignment with strict health and safety processes.
  • Ensure all electrical work is compliant with legislation and site requirements.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records for audit and compliance purposes.
Communication & Coordination
  • Work closely with on-site maintenance teams and operational staff.
  • Provide clear updates on job status, outstanding issues, and recommendations.
  • Ensure strong communication across engineering and site teams.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Fully qualified Electrical Engineer (e.g., NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition).
  • Background in engineering within manufacturing, production, or industrial FMCG environments.
  • Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and electrical maintenance capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Experience working with PPM schedules and maintenance systems (desirable).
