MIS and Data Systems Officer – Temporary Maternity Cover

Your new role

As the MIS & Data Systems Officer, you will be a key member of the Management Information Systems team, providing essential support during a period of maternity leave. Reporting to the MIS Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing and validating the Individual Learner Record (ILR) for statutory submissions.
  • Supporting the transition of college processes to Arbor Workflow and maintaining Cedar-based systems.
  • Using DSAT tools to ensure data quality and audit compliance.
  • Assisting with timetable development and resource allocation using Edval and Arbor.
  • Managing student records, course changes, and register compliance.
  • Overseeing ID card systems and ensuring integration with security and printing.
  • Capturing and analysing student destination and progression data.
  • Supporting enrolment, admissions, and exams processes, including data checks and invigilation.
  • Providing MIS support and training to staff, students, and external agencies.
  • Designing data capture screens and maintaining documentation.

What you'll need to succeed

Qualifications:
  • IT qualification (minimum Level 2)
  • GCSE English and Maths (Level 2 or equivalent)
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Access
  • Understanding of educational data requirements and processes
  • Experience in data validation, reporting, and administration
  • Familiarity with Arbor, Cedar, Edval, and DSAT tools is advantageous
  • Experience supporting end users and managing projects/processes
Technical Skills:
  • Confident in using commercial software and extracting meaningful data
  • Skilled in report writing and procedure documentation
  • Ability to analyse and improve processes
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines

  • Detail-oriented and committed to data accuracy
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and professional
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Friendly and supportive, with a service-focused mindset
