New Job Opportunity – Mechanical Teal Leader – Cumbria

Job Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Mechanical Team Leader to join our Hard Services team at Sellafield. As the first point of contact for both the client and engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of mechanical maintenance services across the site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary liaison for client queries, providing timely feedback and escalation where needed.
  • Ensure all planned and reactive works are scheduled, delivered, and updated in Archibus in line with contract KPIs.
  • Prepare and implement Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) documentation in compliance with legislative and client requirements.
  • Supervise and support team operations through pre-job briefs, inspections, and quality assurance.
  • Monitor and manage work in progress (WIP), providing updates, resolving issues, and ensuring timely completion.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to optimise resource allocation and task scheduling.
  • Conduct workforce audits, deliver team briefings, and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Coach and mentor team members, supporting their development and Sellafield nominations.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, near misses, and non-compliance, and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Essential: NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Maintenance & Installation (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role
  • Strong understanding of facilities services and nuclear site procedures
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification
  • Full clean UK driving licence
Desirable Skills:
  • Computer literacy (e.g., MS Office, CAFM systems)
  • Effective time management and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment
