Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services
Location: East Midlands
Hours: 8am–4pm (37.5 hours/week)
Type: Permanent/Rolling Contract
Rate: Circa £35–£45/hour (negotiable)

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a building services consultancy delivering a wide range of projects – from Arts and Heritage to commercial, education, energy, healthcare, industrial, science and tech, sports and leisure, retail, and residential.
What you’ll be doing:

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a building services consultancy delivering a wide range of projects – from Arts and Heritage to commercial, education, energy, healthcare, industrial, science and tech, sports and leisure, retail, and residential.
What you’ll be doing:
- Full HVAC design – from estimation stage through to Stage 5
- Collaborate with estimators to develop concepts into detailed designs
- Attend client, pre-construction, and design meetings
- Issue designs to clients and construction teams
- Engage with a wide range of sectors
- Strong experience in mechanical building services design (HVAC, plumbing, drainage)
- Client-facing and confident in meetings
- CAD/Revit experience
- Comfortable working in-office (1 day WFH possible)
- No formal qualifications required – experience in the market is all they are looking for
- Long-term, rolling contract with stability
- Broad project exposure across public and private sectors
