Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services
Location: East Midlands
Hours: 8am–4pm (37.5 hours/week)
Type: Permanent/Rolling Contract
Rate: Circa £35–£45/hour (negotiable)
Start: Flexible – we’ll work around you

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a building services consultancy delivering a wide range of projects – from Arts and Heritage to commercial, education, energy, healthcare, industrial, science and tech, sports and leisure, retail, and residential.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Full HVAC design – from estimation stage through to Stage 5
  • Collaborate with estimators to develop concepts into detailed designs
  • Attend client, pre-construction, and design meetings
  • Issue designs to clients and construction teams
  • Engage with a wide range of sectors
What we’re looking for:
  • Strong experience in mechanical building services design (HVAC, plumbing, drainage)
  • Client-facing and confident in meetings
  • CAD/Revit experience
  • Comfortable working in-office (1 day WFH possible)
  • No formal qualifications required – experience in the market is all they are looking for
