Materials Clerk, temporary position, immediate start available, weekly pay

Your new company
It is a manufacturing company with a site based in Derry. They have appointed Hays to recruit a Materials Clerk to join their team. This position is temporary initially with the possibility of extension. Working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.


Your new role
As Material Clerk, you will work within a fast-paced environment and your key responsibilities will include:- working with suppliers to ship material for refurbishment. Generating and maintaining key reports. Engaging and establishing relationships with internal customers / vendors to improve supply chain performance or resolve machine down situations. You will co-ordinate obsolete materials programs. Manage the shipping / receiving of materials. Liaise with couriers or transport teams. Identify cost reduction opportunities and action. You will maintain materials systems updating as necessary. Ensure compliance with the company's Health & Safety and operating policies and procedures.


What you'll need to succeed
As Materials Clerk, you will be self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work on your own initiative. A team player who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Essentially, you will be proficient in Microsoft suite and able to create V-Lookups and pivot tables in Excel. Ideally, you will be familiar with international shipping requirements, tariff codes, import duties and required documentation.
