Your new role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting engineering activities across design, process, production systems, and quality & continuous improvement.
You will be responsible for:
- Designing, proving, implementing and maintaining production systems to deliver products on time, to quality and cost requirements.
- Driving continuous improvement in quality, cycle times, process efficiency, and machine availability using lean and value engineering techniques
- Supporting product design for manufacture and assembly, as well as CAM/CAE activities
- Selecting and designing cutting tools, work holding tools and moulds
- Developing validation plans to ensure robust technical solutions
- Creating and maintaining project plans and budgets to meet agreed milestones
- Identifying and justifying capital equipment investments
- Analysing material usage and downtime, identifying trends and developing solutions
- Ensuring accuracy of procedures, documentation and systems data
- Producing reports, presentations, and conducting root cause analysis to resolve issues
- Identifying business improvement opportunities and conducting risk assessments
What you’ll need to succeed
Ideally:
- Relevant Manufacturing/Engineering degree (preferred) or HND, BTEC Professional Level 5 Award, or NVQ Level 5 equivalent
- 2 years experience in a similar environment (heavy engineering, automotive, aerospace)
- Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
- CAD Proficiency
- In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques
