We are looking for a Managing Director for one of our Specialist leading UK independent insurance brokers offering complete specialist insurance solutions for clients across a range of specialisms and market sectors based in Surrey. Your new Brokers are also a commercial, a digital insurance provider to clients. Your new role is to manage the overall running of Sales, Service, and Operational Functions as well as oversee a team of c60 staff. Income to the office is c£6.5 million

The ideal candidate will provide inspirational leadership and empower the team to deliver core objectives. The MD will be responsible for driving the business forward and delivering profitable growth alongside the key strategic objectives, one being the expansion of their digital technology platforms as well as over seeing the smooth operation of the business.

Responsibilities include developing existing product and service offerings, reducing new business acquisition costs, improving customer retention. The MD will take a lead role in strengthening profitability and promoting organic growth, controlling and reducing acquisition costs, and leading the process for developing new small business product offerings.

You will have 5 direct reports. There are growth plans to double in size, requirements for this will be to maximise the policy count and expend using digital technology platforms.

You will need to have a strong background in in Commercial lines and be commercially astute in the realities of running a Commercial/Digital business ideally from a Insurance Brokers or Lloyd’s Brokers.
Experience with campaign management and digital marketing would be advantageous as well as knowledge of Schemes and or Binding Authorities.
The role requires a strong leader who has experience in strategic planning, financial budgeting and control, and product and offering development. The ability to communicate at all levels is a must as well as a track record in improving sales culture.

The role will be office based in Surrey a minimum of 3 days a week so travel to Surrey is essential.
