Management Accountant - Finance Business Partner - Financial Analysis - Budgeting - Forecasting - MS Excel

Our client is a well-established and highly reputable operational business with a strong growth strategy and active expansion plans for the coming years.

Your new role
They are looking to appoint a Regional Management Accountant to join the business, to cover the southern location, but based predominantly remotely. In this position you would be delivering monthly management reporting, preparing quarterly regional re-forecasts and annual budgets, developing and presenting new reporting aimed at improving key regional profit drivers and partnering the regional operations teams. Travelling 2/3 days a month to meetings would be required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present monthly reports, quarterly re-forecasts, and annual budgets. Analyse financial performance and deviations from plans.
  • Coaching and Development: Enhance financial awareness and skills within the regional operations team.
  • Operational Support: Assist operations in understanding financial performance and improving economic profit. Visit sites to challenge financial performance and coach financial awareness.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement changes to improve regional financial processes and drive process improvements across contracts.
  • Capital Expenditure: Support the preparation of capital expenditure requests, including investment appraisals and sensitivity analysis.
  • Business Development: Assist in reviewing commercial and business development models, ensuring accuracy and operational feasibility.
  • Ad-hoc Projects: Undertake regional ad-hoc projects and analyses as required.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure personal and team safety, report unsafe practices, and comply with safety regulations.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal person would be a credible finance professional with a proven track record of providing excellent finance support to operations teams. It is essential that you come with a demonstrable, recent background in management accounting and commercial analytics and that you are advanced in MS Excel, with good experience in data manipulation. Personal qualities required include strong drive, resilience and enthusiasm with the ability to collaborate and influence others well.
