Your new company

Hays Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be supporting this established charity who require a Management Accountant to take responsibility for the Trust's financial reporting, systems and help shape the future plans for the Trust. This role will be office-based near Fakenham, Norfolk NR22

Your new role

As the Management Accountant, you will support the Financial Controller in the production of general bookkeeping across the ledgers, as well as the production of monthly management accounts to include posting of journals, balance sheet and bank reconciliations, along with detailed analysis of various income streams and variance budgets.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the accounts are prepared in-line with the relevant financial compliance to Charity SORP standards, VAT exceptions, best practice and overall improving internal procedures. This will also involve reviewing donations and gift aid returns to maximise revenue, as well as working with the Trustee board to grow revenue and manage costs.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be at least AAT qualified or studying towards a finance qualification and able to produce monthly management accounts as well as manage financial reporting regarding bank reconciliations, income streams, VAT returns and general finance compliance under SORP. However, we will consider commercial accountants who have the desire and passion to work for a non-for-profit organisation where you can play key role in shaping the charties future and values.

As part of the Senior Management Team, you will manage a finance / HR admin clerk but, fundamentally, you will be the main finance person on site.

What you'll get in return

The charity offers a salary of circa £35,000, 28 days' holiday, including bank holidays, and an office based near Fakenham NR22 in Norfolk.
