A respected not-for-profit organisation based in Manchester City Centre is seeking a hands on Accountant to join their finance team on a temporary basis, working part time (22.5hours). This organisation plays a vital role in supporting public safety and education initiatives across the UK.

Your new role

As Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance team, ensuring the smooth and accurate operation of day-to-day financial processes. You will be responsible for:

• Supporting on preparing monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations

• Assisting with bank reconciliations and payroll support

• Supporting accounts payable and receivable functions

• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and budget forecasts

• Ensuring compliance with financial policies and audit requirements

• Providing administrative support and liaising with internal departments on invoice queries

What you’ll need to succeed

You will have:

• Experience as a accountant or in a similar role

• Experience with putting together monthly management accounts

• Experience completing balance sheet reconciliations

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications

• Experience working with Sage or Xero

• High attention to detail

• Excellent communication and time management skills

• Professional certification (e.g., AAT, CIMA, ACCA) – desirable
