This organisation is one of Scotland's largest construction companies, employing in excess of 2000 people. The busy finance team currently have an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to join them on a permanent basis, joining them as a management accountant.


Your new role

Working within this busy role, you will be responsible for the 4-weekly reporting cycle and will manage between £50m and £60m of capital projects. You will take responsibility for financial processing budgets and business planning, with exposure to accruals and pre-paymentrs. This is a busy role and the ability to think on your feet is essential. Within the construction landscape there are changes to international accounting standards on their way, and you will be technically strong. Another key part of this role is the ability to influence the wider business utilising strong stakeholder engagement skills. Coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team is also an essential part of this role.


What you'll need to succeed

You will be a qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, ICAS, CIMA, CIPFA) with experience of working within the construction sector (or local government capital projects). You will have experience of working in a management accounting role, and you will have good business partnering experience. You will also have the ability to think on your feet and be able to manage change within the organisation.
