Part-Qualified Management Accountant – Legal Services | London (Hybrid)

I’m working in partnership with a leading international legal services provider with offices across the globe. Renowned for delivering high-quality, client-focused solutions, the firm supports the growth and success of businesses, investment funds, and financial institutions. As part of their continued expansion, they are looking to hire a Part-Qualified Management Accountant to join their London-based finance team. This role reports to the Finance Manager and sits within a wider team overseen by the Financial Controller. The position is based near Moorgate Station and follows a hybrid working model (3 days in-office, 2 days remote).


Your new role

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset postings.
  • Perform comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee the supplier invoice process, ensuring correct coding and timely approvals.
  • Prepare VAT/GST returns and submit ONS statistical returns as required.
  • Support year-end audit activities by compiling core financial data and coordinating sample requests from auditors.
  • Assist in the preparation of corporation tax analysis and supporting documentation.
  • Compile and submit PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) data.
  • Manage client accounts in accordance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).
  • Provide billing support during peak periods and staff absences.
  • Mentor and assist the Junior Accounts Assistant, offering guidance and resolving queries.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Part-qualified accountant actively studying towards a professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).
  • Proven experience in preparing management accounts, including prepayments and accruals.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience within a professional services firm is essential.
