Management Accountant - 12–15 months Fixed Term – Based in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire - Remote/office hybrid

Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading & established group based in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, to recruit a hands-on & experienced Management Accountant to join their accounting function on a 12 – 15 months fixed-term contract. The Management Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of management reporting & project controls, while supporting the Financial Controller and wider operational teams across the business. Offering remote/office hybrid working (3 days on-site, 2 days remote) & competitive group benefits, this is a great opportunity to really support a business within an interesting sector. Your new role

Your key duties will involve preparation of monthly Management Accounts with supporting analysis and variance investigation. Reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts, liaising with operational staff to maintain accurate sales forecasts and margin analysis. You will be monitoring/reporting on project performance against budget and forecast, along with supporting the preparation of business cases for exceptional expenditure such as CAPEX. You will support the development/maintenance of control spreadsheets, project analysis, and assist in the creation of annual budgets, making sure variances are monitored throughout the year. You will be involved in ad-hoc projects and duties to support senior financial management and the wider business.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this varied Management Accounting role, you will need experience in a similar position, part-qualified/qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience, with knowledge of preparing management accounts from company/prime records. You will have strong communication skills to partner internally at all levels, good communication skills to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Organised, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will have experience in a range of financial systems, with strong MS Excel skills and data analysis skills. Adaptable to business needs, with a can-do, proactive working approach, willing to learn & support others around the group.
