A well-established and highly reputable organisation based in Cornwall, operating within a specialist manufacturing environment. The business continues to grow and evolve, creating the need for a dedicated and technically competent Management Accountant to strengthen its finance function. You’ll be joining a stable, supportive team where accuracy, insight, and high-quality financial reporting play a central role in driving business performance.
Your new role
- Preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting to strict deadlines
- Assisting with the preparation of the annual financial statements
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Supporting the annual audit process
- Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
- Assisting with annual budgeting and ongoing forecasts, including variance and cost analysis
- Conducting financial analysis to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
- Supporting the development and strengthening of internal controls
- Providing guidance to Finance Assistants within the team
- Building and maintaining financial models to support strategic planning and investment decisions
- Partnering with operational teams to deliver financial insight and support business initiatives
What you'll need to succeed
- AAT Level 4 qualified (essential)
- Experienced in management accounting or financial analysis
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experienced with SAGE ERP (desirable, not essential)
- A confident communicator able to work closely with non‑finance stakeholders.
- Organised, proactive and capable of managing competing priorities
