About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive Maintenance Operative to support a portfolio of supported accommodation and offices across the Canterbury area. This is a hand‑on role covering general repairs, reactive maintenance, and planned work to help keep properties safe, tidy, and well‑presented.
As you’ll be travelling between sites, your own vehicle is essential.

As you’ll be travelling between sites, your own vehicle is essential.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out general maintenance: decorating, carpentry, basic plumbing, drainage, flooring, and small repairs.
- Identifying issues on site — waste, fly‑tipping, pest concerns — and reporting as needed.
- Working with specialist contractors where required.
- Completing reactive repairs promptly and managing your workload effectively.
- Supporting cyclical maintenance and refurbishing void rooms.
- Recording your work accurately to support performance tracking.
- Ensuring all work meets health & safety standards.
- Working closely with Housing Management teams to resolve issues.
About You
- Have broad maintenance/handyperson experience.
- Work well independently and manage your time effectively.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and service users.
- Hold a full driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
- Are reliable, flexible and take pride in your work.
- An understanding of Supported Housing.
