Your new role

As a Shift Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be a key part of the engineering team, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of production equipment. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Whitby, working on a rotating shift pattern. You will work a 3-shift system (06:00–14:00, 14:00–22:00, and 22:00–06:00).
The role involves both electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, and installations. While the position is electrically biased, candidates with a mechanical background are also encouraged to apply, as a multi-skilled approach is highly valued.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience:
  • Minimum 12 months post-qualification engineering experience
  • Experience with electrical services and equipment up to 415V
  • Familiarity with 3-phase distribution systems
  • Maintenance experience in mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems
  • Ability to manage a busy workload, balancing planned and reactive maintenance
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable.
Knowledge & Qualifications:
  • Apprentice-trained or equivalent qualifications
  • 18th Edition IEE certificate (training can be provided)
  • City & Guilds 2391/2392 (training can be provided)
  • Computer-literate
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
